Ever been to the Dubai mall?
When it comes to the latest shopping destinations, amazing historical architectures and well everything!,
Dubai steals that special place in my heart…
A city abuzz with life, energy and endless opportunities….
This year, following my routine burst of energy from the 31st night of trying to convince myself to be more and do more as i usually do every year…
I decided it was time for me to step out into the world and take charge of my life as most twenty something year old’s do ….i guess…
The plan was to be the very best i could be, create more content for my blog and most importantly to become a huge success!
All in due time….
I started with a place i always wanted to write about for a long time,
An experience that wow’s me every single time and i wanted to share it to the world….
I wanted everyone to see it through my eyes, but not just that!…..i wanted them to feel like they were actually there!
I have been in dubai for a few years now and i must say……it is quite the city….
Bursting with life and adventure but most of all FUN!….
One such place is the famous…..The Dubai mall,
Entwined with the famous Dubai Water Fountain,
Amazing Michelin star restaurants and 5 star hotels,
Surpassed only by an astonishing view of the tallest building in the world – The Burj Khalifa in all its 2,717 ft. of glory…
It quickly became one of the best places in Dubai to spend most holidays for me….
It’s like i always say…..nothing gets past the Burj Khalifa….
Well, at least not in my book…..lol….
You can feel every single holiday celebration by being there at the right moment and at the right time….
From New years eve countdowns, to “Merry Christmas” and “Happy Valentine” wishes…..
This famous tourist attraction gets decorated with just the right words just at the right time to celebrate any special occasion.
On this special day, i had just gotten home from work and couldn’t think of anything better to do than visit my favorite place.

How To Get To The Dubai Mall From The Metro Station?
It was about 19 degrees which is a bit chilly for Dubai, but that couldn’t stop me…
So I got out my denim jacket and my loose denim cargo pants and headed towards the closest metro station….
Whooo…what a convenience the metro is, fast, easy and gets you to wherever you want to go by the swipe of a card or two…
The Dubai mall was just a few stations away from my place…..
Which made it easier for me to just decide to go there whenever i wanted….
I made my way through the mildly empty halls of the metro station and by one tap of my metro card I was in….
And on my way to one of my favorite places….
The Dubai Mall Entrance
The metro is connected to the Dubai mall….which is a plus…
What greeted you first as you made your way into the mall were all kinds of shops on your left and right side as you walked in….
Buzzing with traders trying to convince you to purchase some Arabic perfumes,
Plastic statues of gold plated camels and caricatures of the Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab,
Some uniquely designed Abaya shops and an Ice cream place or two….
And a crowd of guests who are either visiting Dubai for the first time and are so interested in every single thing this mega mall had to offer..
Or other simple guests like me who just had to go there….
I always fall prey to the first ice cream shop i see…
and so saying that i needed to have a cup or two of my favorite coffee flavored ice-cream and gelatino crackers would be an understatement….
At this point, it was more of a necessity really….
After that I proceeded to the mall….
The familiar bright red neon sign of the book store greeting me as I enter made me feel like home….
Facts About The Dubai Mall
The mall is quite big…., spanning over 1,124,000 square meters,
This mega mall is the size of 50 football pitches combined!.
How cool is that!
The Dubai Aquarium
Dubai mall is also the location of the famous Dubai mall Aquarium,
Which known for having the world’s largest acrylic panel which is 108 feet wide, 29.5 inches thick, 27 feet high and weighs 541,486 pounds,
It houses over 33,000 aquatic animals (sharks included).
If you love aquatic life…..believe me, you’ll love this!
The Dubai Mall Stores
There are over 1200 stores in the Dubai mall ranging from Gucci and Prada to H & M or Forever 21.
Every single brand name you could ever think of, from clothes to shoes to sunglasses and expensive watches were all here…
The mall also boasts a skating rink, an illusion waterfall and a 250 room luxury hotel….
The Dubai Mall Restaurants
There are 120 unique restaurants at Dubai mall,
Including local Arabic cuisine, Indian and international cuisines and has a parking space that can house up to 14,000 cars all at once!.
Whatever you wanted ….you could definitely find here…..
The Dinosaur Skeleton
The Dubai mall is also home to the skeleton of a dinosaur recovered from Wyoming
The Water Fountain
Making my way through the crowd of people all here to get one thing or the other,
I made my way to the most important part of the mall…
The water fountain….
The Water Dance Timings
At 7pm every day,
There is a water dance show and people from all over the world gather at this location to take in this amazing experience.
It happened every 30 minutes and beginning at 7pm up until 11pm, at this time, the final show would be taking place…
If you are inside the mall at like 6.40pm,
You will already notice people trying to make their way to the ground floor where the show takes place….
Since there are so many people waiting to see it,
You would have to go earlier to get a good spot,
Where you can see the water dance and the Burj Khalifa display without any obstruction or interference…
Usually, this spot for me was at the bridge, right in the middle of the water and right in front of the Burj Khalifa itself…
But today, i decided to watch it from a different place…..
So I strolled down the walk ways, almost at the foot of the Burj Khalifa itself….
and right there among the crowd i relived my favorite moment.
The Water Dance
It started with the playing of music, the type usually depends on the occasion being celebrated…..
So sometimes it could be Arabic, Chinese etc…
The music diversity is crazy…
Somehow,
They always managed to choose just the right song or sound that went really well with the flow of the water….
It’s so satisfying…
You could feel the amazement of the crowd as they gasp out of surprise as the water dance begins…..
Everyone out with their camera phones either recording a video or taking a photo to capture this beautiful moment.
The water would move subtly according to the music and it’s pressure could go as high as 500 feet depending on the tempo and speed of the music playing…..
Making everyone clap and cheer as the song came to an end…..
You have got to see it…..
It’s beautiful…
